Who builds this

Built by petroleum engineers. It shows.

This isn’t a software company that discovered oil data last year. It’s built in Texas by engineers who have worked for an operator in the field and in the office. What reaches you is the information that can change your day, not everything the state published overnight.

Reactivation Score · API 42-317-XXXXX

72of 100

A score is only useful if you can argue with it. Every well shows the four weighted inputs behind its number, each bar showing how much it contributed, and the app never tells you to buy anything.

  • Production before shut-inweight 40%
  • Offset activity within 2 miweight 25%
  • Depth / cost to re-enterweight 20%
  • Operator status (P-5)weight 15%

Inside your account

The email tells you what changed. The account holds everything that ever did.

PermitPulse is a subscription to a database, not a newsletter. The digest is how it reaches you every morning. The record underneath it is what you are actually paying for, and all of it is there the first time you log in.

Search the basin, not your inbox

One box searches operator, lease, county and API number across every permit in the database. Finding a filing from three weeks ago takes a second, not a scroll back through old email.

Sort and narrow to what you work

Sort by date, operator, county or total depth. Type an operator name and the table redraws as you go, so the set in front of you is only ever the part you asked for.

Export exactly what you filtered

One click gives you a spreadsheet of the well and permit information you filtered. Not the whole dump, not a sample. What you narrowed it to is what you get.

Every row links back to the Commission

Each permit carries its API number, a link to the RRC's own W-1 query, and where the well has coordinates, its position on the Commission's public map. Nothing here asks you to take our word for it.

The digest is the part that arrives. This is the part you keep coming back to, and it grows every morning whether or not the day was busy.

What's different

Same public records. Different everything else.

Every tool in this market reads the same state filings. What separates them is what lands on your screen, what it costs to find out, and how hard it is to walk away.

  1. 01

    Texas, covered properly

Everyone else sells you the whole country an inch deep. We know Texas cold, and it shows the first time you look up a county you actually work.

  2. 02

    An answer, not a dashboard

You don't get a query builder and a weekend. You get a written read on what changed overnight and why it matters, before you've opened anything.

  3. 03

    Numbers you can argue with

Every permit carries the API and permit number you need to pull the state's own record, scores show their factors, and nothing is smoothed to look tidier than the filings actually are.

  4. 04

    No data team required

No implementation project, no seat minimum, no analyst to stand between you and the answer. One login, useful on day one.

  5. 05

    Nothing to escape

Month to month, priced on this page, and every permit you can see exports to CSV on your way out. Staying should be your choice, not the contract's.

Our terms

The commitments, up front.

Most complaints about data vendors aren't about the data. They're about what happens after you sign: the contract that won't let go, the renewal quote nobody warned you about. So here's the whole arrangement, before you pay anything.

Cancel anytime

No notice window, no exit interview

Month to month, cancelled from inside the app in two clicks. You keep access through the period you already paid for, and that's the end of it. Nobody here is going to make you write a letter 90 days ahead of a renewal you'd rather skip.

60 days' notice

Before any price increase reaches you

If pricing changes, existing subscribers get at least 60 days' written notice before the new rate applies, which is enough time to decide, export what you need, and leave on your own schedule if that's the call.

On this page

The price, in public, for everyone

What you see below is what you pay. No discovery call to unlock a number, no separate rate because of where you work or how much data you touched last month.

Yours to take

Export on demand, on every plan

Every permit set you filter exports to CSV, as many times as you like. Export is not a paid add-on, not a higher tier, and not a support request you have to make. We do not hold your work back to keep you subscribed.

Data & honesty

What the data can and can't tell you.

Public records have real limits. A tool that hides them is selling you confidence instead of information.

One public source, stated plainly

Everything comes from Railroad Commission of Texas public datasets: permits, wellbore records, production, P-5 filings, orphan lists. Each record carries the identifiers you need to find it at the Commission, and links to the RRC's own query and map.

Production is lease-level. We say so.

The RRC reports production by lease, not by well. Any per-well number you've ever seen was allocated by somebody, using a method they usually don't show you. On multi-well leases we display the lease volume and the well count, label the per-well figure an allocated estimate, and tell you which rule produced it.

Nothing gets smoothed

Shut-ins, gaps, and ugly month-to-month swings stay in the chart exactly as filed. A flat, tidy curve usually means someone interpolated it, and you should be able to reconcile every series here against the state's own files, line for line.

The model writes; the database counts

Every number in an AI summary is taken from queried records, never generated. Summaries carry a verify-against-source note, because they should. Forecasts and valuations aren't in the product, because a confident-looking number built on allocated volumes is worse than no number.

Not advice

Scores and briefs are information tools for your own diligence, not legal, engineering, or investment advice, and never a recommendation to buy.

FAQ

Reasonable questions.

What can I get today?

PermitPulse is live. Approved Permian permits load every day, the digest goes out the same morning, and on a day with nothing new it says so rather than going quiet. Your account holds the searchable record behind it. Reactivation Finder is in alpha with a small group of design partners, so that one is still a waitlist.

Why start with the Permian?

Because that's where the activity is, and depth is worth more than breadth when you're watching a handful of counties. Statewide data is already ingested behind the scenes, so opening up the rest of Texas is a switch rather than a rebuild. It's a question of when, not whether.

Where does the data come from?

Texas Railroad Commission public bulk datasets: drilling permits (back to 1976, with coordinates), monthly production, wellbore and API records, P-5 operator filings, and orphan/inactive well lists.

How current is it?

The Commission publishes its file each morning and the digest follows it, every day of the week. Production data follows the RRC's own monthly release cadence, and no tool can make that faster than the state publishes it.

Is the Reactivation Score a recommendation?

No. It's a deterministic ranking built from four weighted, visible factors, a way to sort a few thousand candidates down to a few worth your time. Title, MIT and H-15 status, and surface access are all still on you.

How is AI used, exactly?

For writing, not for arithmetic. An AI model turns structured query results into readable summaries and well briefs. The numbers are pulled from the database and passed in; the model never estimates them.

Is there a contract or a minimum term?

No. Plans are month to month and you cancel from inside the app whenever you like, and there's no notice period to observe and no renewal date to diary. You keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.

What happens if you raise prices?

Existing subscribers get at least 60 days' written notice before a new rate takes effect, so you have time to decide and to leave beforehand if you'd rather.

Do I have to talk to sales to find out what it costs?

Not for the two self-serve plans. Those numbers are on this page and they're the same for everyone. Enterprise is scoped around what you actually need, so that one is a conversation, but you won't get a different price for the same product because of where you work.

Do you forecast production or value assets?

No, and that's deliberate. Type curves and automated valuations built on allocated lease volumes look far more precise than the underlying data supports. We give you clean records, honest labels, and a ranking you can audit. The engineering judgement stays yours.

Can I get an API or statewide coverage?

Both are on the enterprise track rather than the self-serve plans. If that's what you need, say so when you join the waitlist and I'll follow up directly.
